For its inaugural year, the Program invited only 22 external legal scholars from law schools in the southern United States. The papers these scholars presented engaged a broad range of urban and rural property law challenges including, but not limited to housing law and policy, land tenure, land loss, land use, zoning, the environment, and property law and theory, including papers that addressed international comparative property issues.

In future years, the Schmooze will extend invitations to scholars throughout the U.S., and abroad, based upon topics or regions.
