Joan Stringfellow

Joan Stringfellow has dedicated her professional career to supporting legal education and research through her work in academic law libraries. She has worked in the law library since 1993, bringing more than three decades of experience and a strong commitment to serving students, faculty, and the broader academic community.

Joan earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Wesleyan University, with a concentration in Law. She later earned a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas, developing a strong foundation in library and information services, legal research, and academic support.

In 2016, Joan co-authored the assignments for Barkan, Bintliff, and Whisner’s Fundamentals of Legal Research and Legal Research Illustrated, 10th Edition. Her contribution to this widely used legal research text reflects her extensive experience in legal research instruction and her commitment to helping law students develop effective research skills.

Throughout her career, Joan has combined her background in law and library and information science to provide knowledgeable and dedicated service to students and faculty.
