Dean David W. Dye has been the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs and a Senior Lecturer at Texas A&M University School of Law since 2019. In this role, he oversees the Master of Laws (LL.M.), Master of Legal Studies (MLS), and Graduate Certificate programs. Under his leadership, graduate program enrollment has grown exponentially, establishing the program as one of the most robust and well known of its kind nationwide. He also spearheaded the development of numerous graduate certificate programs and substantially expanded MLS program concentrations from three to 16, enhancing opportunities for professionals to enhance their careers.
Dean Dye holds a Juris Doctor (JD) and Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from the University of Oklahoma, where he was honored as a member of the Order of Solicitors and Phi Delta Phi. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Before joining Texas A&M, Dean Dye was the director of graduate programs at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he developed multiple online and hybrid Master of Legal Studies programs. His innovative work in legal education has made him a national leader in extending legal education to non-lawyers and lawyers online, enhancing accessibility. He has regularly shared his expertise through presentations at national conferences, contributing to the advancement of legal education.
A veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard (2001–2007) and a former staff member of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Oklahoma, Dean Dye brings a diverse background of practical and academic experience. His contributions to legal education have earned him national recognition.
