Public Interest Law Fellowship

    

The Texas A&M Law Fellowship is a student-run organization devoted to raising awareness of the need for dedicated legal professionals in the public sector. Our fellowship program funds internships for deserving students who perform public-interest work​ with organizations and attorneys providing crucial legal services to those in need.

Furthermore, the program exemplifies Texas A&M School of Law’s core value of selfless service as students give back to the community while also gaining practical legal experience. 

These fellowships enabled our students to serve in various cities across Texas including Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, Galveston, and Houston, to name a few locales. Our fellowships are awarded during the spring ​semester for the summer. We encourage all interested students to apply.

Every dollar raised for the Fellowship program helps fund students’ living expenses while they work in the public interest sector during the summer.

Funds raised ​support the ​summer ​fellowships, enabling more students to assist public interest legal programs and attorneys. Your generous ​support of the Law Fellowship ultimately helps these programs serve a part of the community who otherwise would be unable to afford such services. The Law Fellowship also hosts Public Interest Week during the spring semester. Several of the agencies will be at the school looking for students to work for them over the summer. Additional placements are found on the Equal Justice Works page on the main Texas A&M University School of Law website. All of the employers at Public Interest ​Week and on the pro bono page are acceptable placements for those applying for a fellowship.

In short, we raise funds to support our Fellows to serve Texas, we raise awareness of public interest law, and put students in a place to network professionally. All with the help and support of our community.
