Professor Irene Calboli:

• ​Delivered a presentation on “Trademark Protections and Geographical Indications of Origin” as part of the “Campus Abroad” program organized by the Faculty of Law, Bocconi University at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (July 4, 2017).


• Served as a discussant as part of the “Intellectual Property and Public Art” lecture by professor Lilla’ Montagnani of Bocconi University held at the School of Law, Singapore Management University, Singapore (July 5, 2017).


• Served as a discussant for the “Intellectual Property Rights in Malaysia” lecture by Professor Tay Pek San of the University of Malaya, held at the School of Law, Singapore Management University, Singapore (July 12, 2017).

Professor Gabriel Eckstein:

• Presented “Transboundary Groundwater and Aquifers under International Law,” for the World Bank South Asian Water Initiative’s program titled Transboundary Groundwater: Agreements and Implications for Afghanistan. His seminar was given to representatives of the Government of Afghanistan in Kabul, via WebEx (July 31, 2017).

Associate Professor Guillermo Garcia:

• Awarded the 2017 John Gallup Laylin Prize during the commencement ceremony for Harvard Law School. Harvard’s Laylin Prize is awarded annually for the best paper written in the field of public international law (2017).

Associate Dean for Global Programs and Professor Charlotte Ku:

• Appointed by American Society of International Law (ASIL) President Lucinda Low to a newly created ASIL Operations Committee (July 2017).

Director of Program Development and Senior Lecturer Jack Manhire :

• Presented “The Action Principle in Market Mechanics” at the 13th Econophysics Conference held at the University of Warsaw in Poland  (July 5, 2017).

Professor Peter Yu:

• Delivered lectures on “Primary and Secondary Liability of Intermediaries in US Law” and “Copyright Limitations and Exceptions from Around the World” at the 2017 Xiamen University Intellectual Property Summer School for the Intellectual Property Research Institute at Xiamen University in China (July 8, 2017).


• Serves on the Scientific Committee of the Eighth Annual Asia Pacific Innovation Conference, which will be held at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, November - December, 2017.
