Howdy Week

September 25, 2013

During Tuesday's traditions presentation, Professor Dennis Kelly spoke about his experience while earning his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.

Texas A&M School of Law’s first ever Howdy Week was a fun-filled and informative experience for all involved.

Beginning on September 23, law school students, faculty and staff had the opportunity to celebrate Maroon Out Monday; were treated to a traditions presentation on Tuesday; participated in an Aggie raffle on Wednesday; and attended a Distinguished Speaker Series on Thursday featuring Harold McElhinny, partner at the San Francisco office of Morrison Foerster. The week will wrap up with a game watch party for BTHO Arkansas on Saturday at Frankies in Fort Worth.

The law school’s office of marketing and external affairs and the Texas Aggie Legal Society sponsored the week as way to welcome the law students, faculty and staff into the Aggie Family and answer some of their questions about Texas A&M University.

“It was wonderful to see so many students and faculty wearing maroon throughout the week and saying ‘howdy’ as they passed one another in the hallway. We had a great turnout for our traditions presentation, and we hope that the students and faculty that attended now have a better understanding of the many traditions at Texas A&M University,” 2L Mike Yanda, president of the Texas Aggie Legal Society, said.
