Henning Reforms Secured Transactions Law as State Department Delegate on UN Commission

Bill Henning at the UNProfessor William "Bill" Henning attended the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) meeting at UN headquarters in New York from April 29 through May 4, 2018. Henning is a member of the U.S. State Department’s delegation to Working Group VI of the UNCITRAL.

Henning joined the delegation in 2009 and since then has worked on a Model Law on Secured Transactions for developing nations and companion documents that explain the Model Law and provide regulations for a publicly searchable registry in which notices of secured transactions may be filed.

Secured transactions reform is among the highest priorities for the World Bank and related agencies, and the UNCITRAL project provides the tools by which that reform may be accomplished.
